Active African vacations team comprises of capable and competent office staff and high qualified driver/guides and tour leaders, who all possess the requisite academic qualifications and years of valuable experience. Among us we speak a range of European and African languages, including English, Dutch, Swahili, Luganda, Kinyarwanda and many other local dialects found all across East Africa, empowering us to manage and handle all of our guest’s tour requirements right from conception through operation to closing, for optimal satisfaction.

DRIVER/GUIDES & TOUR LEADERS

Since we are aware of the critical role a guide plays in our guests’ holiday experience, we hire only the best. Of our highly experience full time guides, many used to be national parks rangers with Uganda Wildlife Authority and therefore have extensive local knowledge of the flora and fauna, history, culture, geography. Some avid ornithologists complete our pack.

They also attend regular courses with the accrediting local USAGA (Uganda Safari Guides Association), are members of the Uganda Bird Guides Club and Conservation Societies. In addition, we provide German, Spanish and Japanese speaking Tour Leader/Guides, as well as accompanying translators in any of the other major international languages upon request.

Billy Ssali (Product developer and head guide)

Billy Ssali  is one of the travel directors, who grew up from a small village Kalagala Close to Lyantonde town, where he used to see tourists crossing to Lake Mburo national park and from that point he developed the passion for tourism as a conservationist as a travel guide as a driver guide.

Billy Ssali , and he is one of the professional  Safari Guide at Active African Vacations being born from a small town of Lyantonde, close to lake Mburo nationaI where he was able to emurate from the thousands of visitors that were visiting this incredible national park and in the end Billy picked the interest to become a tourist driver guide since 2010   he has been enrolling from one stage to another until he acquired his first degree in tourism from makerere university,

At the moment Billy is the head guide at Active African vacations, he  feel quite lucky to be part of the hospitality family , where I’ve always been fascinated by the natural world all my life I have been  up watching special channels like  Love Nature , BBC Earth, Methothonian  Channels , Family Adventure movies, NatGeo documentaries be in position to learn and fall in love with nature ,and loving  our planet and its inhabitants much  better. Being so close to people from all over the world has made me learn and love our planet Earth  same as my job , I love driving tourist around and showing my lovely country and the best I can offer to them and to every one , my hobby is  searching for tree climbing lions in the trees, the big five  and Being able to work in this environment has allowed me to live my passion day by day

Kamanzi Emanuel Guide

Kamanzi was barn and raised from a small region with Uganda called Ntungamo, Emma is the common name which is known by a few travelers who have been taken by him on safari with Rwanda and within Uganda, during the 1994 political turmoil that erupted  the family moved to Uganda ,  and in 1998 , Emanuel moved back to Rwanda when the country was back at peace, and finally found his stable job of being a tour guide. He loves guiding tourists and showing them what his country has to offer to tourists, he know what it needs to handle guests as if he is riding on top of egg shell, clients safety on the road is his number one priority ., if you know some one who has been guiding for years in Rwanda and Uganda, Emmanuel is the person , he is member of the Active African vacation’s guiding family.
